In the Beginning. . .
Once upon a time, I avoided Pinterest like the plague. I knew that if I tried the (at the time) new Pinterest thing that everyone was talking about I could quickly become addicted, so for the longest time I avoided even seeing what it was about. When I finally did as a requirement of my job, my life changed forever. I felt like Dorothy must have when she stepped into Technicolor Oz. Or maybe it was more like Harry Potter felt when he was walking down Diagon Alley for the first time after he found out that he was a wizard. Either way, I was hooked and there was no turning back.
As my pin boards multiplied I was enticed with intriguing crafts, recipes, and so many new ideas. Then came the questions. “Could this as good as it looks?” “Does this really work?” “Is this too good to be true?” Many of the pins gave wonderful (and often delicious) results. But sadly, some didn’t measure up to the promise. Often I could tweak a pin from wanting and lacking to spectacular while other times the level of Pinterest Fail was beyond redemption. I scoured the Internet for a website or blog that reviewed pinned recipes, tips, crafts and other ideas in a serious, methodical, and analytical manner. Not finding one, I decided to create it myself. And thus, Pintesting was born in 2013.
I take popular pins, choosing from my own pin boards and recommended pins, and try as many as time and patience will allow. I follow the recipes/instructions as precisely as possible, documenting and photographing along the way, and rate each pin on five categories; Accuracy, Difficulty, Time, Cost, and Practicality; then an overall rating is given. This is an independent, unbiased, third-party test site with nothing to gain except some weight or messes. Join with me as I risk life and limb to test the Pins! (Okay – maybe not quite that extreme, but join me anyway.) 😀
A Little About Me
My name is Anne, and I’m a Pinterest addict.
I’m a self-proclaimed foodie and data nerd who loves God, my family, my friends, and a fun Zumba class. Give me a rich cup of coffee or glass of wine and I can handle just about anything. Florida is my home, but I’ve lived all over the U.S.
When I’m not at work or at school still working toward my degree, you’ll find me cooking, baking, snuggling with my HH, pinning or blogging. (Apparently, sleep is optional.) Zumba is my outlet for dance, exercise, and fun. I was even a contributor for the Zumba Lover’s Cook Book and they put my recipe right on the front cover! For the rare times when I have some time to myself, you’ll find me curled up with a good book and a hot cuppa or cold glassa. (That should absolutely be a thing.)
